THOMAS PYO, MD

The most important values of the treatment I wish to provide are patient autonomy and patient education. Mental health is vast and multi-faceted, and often times there is no one-size-fits-all solution to a patient's symptoms.

Because no one knows the patient's experiences more than the patient themselves, I have espoused the philosophy that patients should be heavily involved in the decisions of their own treatment, and my job is to provide the best information for those decisions.

I'm a firm believer that knowledge is an indispensable part of treatment, and I enjoy explaining to patients, the scientific community's latest understanding of mental illness' biochemical roots, in addition to the most common psychological reasons for distress they may be feeling.

I believe everyone has a right to be healthy and happy, and everyone deserves an opportunity for redemption.
